Bachata YYC Takeover's mission is to inspire growth and ignite excitement for the Bachata scene in the city of Calgary. Our mission is to put Calgary Bachata in the map by developing our local talented dancers by providing them with diverse, effective and unique workshop experiences that will leave students with the appetite to LEARN more. We want to create a culture that cultivates learning, growth, and respect that we hope will be infectious towards the whole community.

Flor is a Harlem-raised dance instructor specializing in traditional and modern bachata, fusion, and salsa on2. She’s been dancing since childhood and began formal studio training in 2018. With a background as a high school teacher, she brings a thoughtful, student-focused approach to her classes—balancing solid technique with creativity and self-expression. She’s passionate about creating safe, inclusive spaces in the social dance scene where dancers of all backgrounds can feel seen, supported, and free to grow. Her teaching is rooted in honoring the cultural origins of Latin dance while helping students build confidence and develop their unique style.
