We are honored to be celebrating our 3RD PRIDE ANNIVERSARY, presenting the
Fusion Dance Festival of Education.
This weekend will be Filled with Celebrations, Education, Dance Workshops & More!
Purpose/ Mission : Fusion Experience is the first Afro-latin Dance social that breaks Gender binaries by providing a safe & comfortable space for the LGBTQ+ community/ Allies to learn Afro- latin dance and other Art forms.
SCHEDULE:
SATURDAY, JUNE 21
11:30am- 12:00pm- Join us for a Meet & Greet to Connect to like-minded souls.
12:00-1:30pm: Bachata Movement & Education with Cokie aka Palenke Cuban Dance Company. (Beginner Friendly & Queer Focused).
1:30-3:00pm: Salsa Movement & Heritage with Ahtoy Juliana from New York city. (Beginner Friendly & Queer Focused).
3:30-4:30pm:Power, Pleasure & Release: Mapping Shame + Reclaiming the Body through Kink & Rhythm.
4:30- 5:30pm: Games, Hangout, Eat, and Talk with Community.
[Break to go home to Look & FEEL Fabulous]
8:00pm: Absolute Beginner Speedtrack Bachata.
9:00- 1:00am: Social Dancing, Shows, Gifts, Animations and Fun!
10:30pm: Showtime
SUNDAY, JUNE 22
11:00AM- 11:45AM- Okan Y Miel- Movement Medicine: A Space to learn the Fundamental Movements of the Orishas. (This safe space is inclusive & open to all who want movement while also seeking connection and understanding).
12:00-2:00pm:PANEL DISCUSSION ON DANCE SAFETY AND INCLUSION with NotJustChisme Featuring Outsmart NYC- a Non- profit with the mission to prevent and end sexual violence in nightlife and party spaces through training, advocacy, community organizing.
2:15-3:00pm: Groundwork & Meditation Sacred Ceremony with ShortyMovement. (Queer body focused and beginner friendly, no mat needed.)
3:00- 4:00pm: Old school board Games, hang out, connect with Community.

7:00pm: Adv Beg Speedtrack to Salsa Basics
8:00pm-12:00am:Social Dancing, Shows, Gifts, Animations and Fun!
Full Pass includes access to all the Workshops and Events. Get your Early Bird passes as there will be no door tickets.

- Never assume a dancer is a lead or follow based on gender, clothing or looks; ask
- Consent is key on and off the dance floor: “Would you like to dance?”
- Please drink responsibly. Anyone who displays drunk or disorderly behavior will be escorted out of the event.
- Ask people their pronouns and names, it helps connect.
- No Homophobia, Sexism, Racism, Ageism, Ableism, or other discrimination will be tolerated here. You will be asked to leave!
- Never make people feel uncomfortable on or off the dance floor, you will be banned from all our events.
- Show the love you would want to receive to the performers, it takes courage.
- Enjoy the night away, meet someone new and dance with them! Don’t overthink and have fun!
